Outrageous Auctions specialize in engagement rings, diamonds, clarity enhanced diamond rings, stud earrings, GIA certified, watches, pearls, gold necklaces, semi-mounts, cufflinks, men's jewelry, and weddings bands. The Store was recently featured on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine.

Outrageous Auctions had 111 items on auction when we reviewed the Store. That number included 90 engagement rings. They provide a special discount to military personnel, police, and fire fighters.

Outrageous Auctions is maintained by an eBay PowerSeller with the id "outrageousauctions". This person has a feedback score above 4,000, and has been an eBay member since 2002. At the time of our review, the person had a 100% positive feedback rating, which is an enormous accomplishment given the high feedback score and the number of years that the person has been on eBay. We want to congratulate outrageousauctions on that achievement.

Store Policies

The Store has a very comprehensive page that explains its Store Policies. The page is called their FAQ, a slight deviation from the standard eBay Store practise. The FAQ describes everything from shipping, payment, pricing, contact details, returns policy, and diamond buying advice.

Observations

The seller's About Me page is lengthy and comprehensive. According to the page, the company’s suppliers and partners are amongst the largest diamond dealers in Israel, and they are also family of the seller. This About Me page is the type that fosters confidence in the seller.

General eBay Tips

1) eBay is an easy place for unscrupulous sellers to market counterfeit merchandise, which can be difficult for novice buyers to distinguish without careful study of the auction description.

2) Try browsing the eBay categories. eBay places all items that are on auction in the eBay category hierarchy. The top categories remain stable, but there are always new sub-categories showing up. You will find the top-level categories on the main eBay home page. From there you can drill down to the lowest level sub-category to find items very neatly grouped into very focused topics.

3) While eBay don't have many people handling complaints, they do have a relatively effective set of automatic process to handle common problems buyers and sellers have with one another.

4) You should take up any issues with the seller - most will be responsive, as they do not want to have their reputation damaged when an upset buyer leaves negative feedback for all their future buyers to see.
